Dunki: Are Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu playing backpackers in Rajkumar Hirani’s film?

Shah Rukh Khan has returned to work after a four year hiatus and fans are excited to see what the actor has to offer them. The superstar is currently working on Dunki directed by Rajkumar Hirani, co-starring Taapsee Pannu. The two actors were recently pictured from the movie’s set and the photos have now gone viral. 

The photo, which was taken from the European leg of the movie’s schedule, features the two actors looking like travellers moving across the country. Shah Rukh can be seen wearing the red jacket which resembles his look from the iconic song Chaiyya Chaiyya from Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se. 

Taapsee on the other hand, is seen in a pink top and both of them can be seen carrying traveling bags. While the details about the characters are kept in wraps, it looks like the two might be seen backpacking across the country in the movie. 

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Taapsee had said, “ “In Raju sir's film, there is a lot more said than the love story. The love story here is much more than any of the other Raju sir's or any other female character portrayal in his film.” 

This is the first time both Shah Rukh and Taapsee are working with the filmmaker and it is also the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and Taapsee. Hirani has previously delivered blockbusters such as Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju. 

Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen playing a full role in 2018’s Zero, is currently also working on Pathaan and Jawaan. Taapsee on the other hand has movies such as Dobaaraa, Blurr and Jana Gana Mana in the works.
