Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki is right now having a theatrical run and one that is just decent and not at par with what King Khan has delivered this year. Coming back from his five-year hiatus, Shah Rukh gave two back-to-back blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, that didn’t just break many box office records but also ended up setting new milestones for others. As for the Rajkumar Hirani directorial, the movie that has received mixed reviews is having quite a slow walk at the box office opposite to the fast run the other two had.

About Dunki Box Office Run So Far

The last we checked, Dunki had crossed the Rs 150 crore mark and was Rs 152.01 crore strong. But looks like day 8 on the domestic front has not done much for the movie. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, and an ensemble. The movie was expected to set a new precedence with the earnings. But mixed reviews and a different genre than the last two seem to have affected the expectations.

Latest Update

As per a Jagran report, Dunki has earned a total of Rs 9 crore at the domestic box office bringing the total collection of the movie in India to Rs 162.01 crore. However, the silver lining is that Dunki is still marching towards Rs 200 crore and has fared decent at the domestic box office. As for global, the film crossed the Rs 300 crore milestone yesterday, and the latest numbers are still awaited.

To give you a perspective, Dunki. who had one-day upper hand, clashed with Prabhas’ Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. Out of the two films it was Prabhas’ Prashanth Neel directorial that won the race most of the time as the movie has achieved success not just in the country but even worldwide.

Meanwhile, Dunki is about a group of friends who aspire to go to Canada and live a better life without knowing what is served for them there. They opt for the Donkey route and that locks all their chances to return home. Written by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijat Joshi, and Kanika Dhillon, the movie was released on December 21, 2023.
