Empuraan director Prithviraj reveals he's 'nervous' about his next, fans ask if it's SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu movie or Meghna Gulzar's film?

Prithviraj Sukumaran has been teasing viewers about his most-anticipated directorial film L2 Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, over the past few days. But in the latest update, the ace Malayalam actor-filmmaker has announced that he is moving on to his acting project and that he’s ‘nervous’ about it. However, he has not revealed any info about which movie this is but only that it is a non-Malayalam film. Since Prithviraj is reported to be a part of SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu movie and Meghna Gulzar's film with Kareena Kapoor Khan, fans are wondering which project the Malayalam actor is talking about. Empuraan director Prithviraj’s next is with SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu or Meghna Gulzar? 

Prithviraj Sukumaran took to his Instagram handle to confirm that he has got into the appearance for his next as an actor after finishing and handing over all marketing assets on his directorial, Empuraan. But then he further said that he is starting to become nervous as he has long monologues in a language that’s not native to him. He also posted a picture of himself where he does not have the bearded-look of his character Zayed Masood from Empuraan . 

Interestingly, Prithviraj is reportedly playing the role of a cop in Meghna Gulzar’s Hindi film which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead. The new look of Prithviraj reminds viewers of his previous cop roles, leading to speculations that he is talking about his upcoming Hindi movie. 

Prior to this, Prithviraj appeared as the villain in Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. 

Prithviraj in SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu film SSMB29?

Prithviraj is also rumoured to be a part of SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu film, which is tentatively titled SSMB29. The second schedule of this highly anticipated project, which also has Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the female lead, will reportedly be shot in Odisha next week, as per reports. Prithviraj’s latest Insta post led some of his fans to believe that he meant SSMB 29. 

However, some online trackers also said that Prithviraj is unlikely to join the Odisha schedule in March and that the Malayalam actor or John Abraham, who is also reported to be a part of the cast, will probably be there for the April schedule. One of the actors is also rumoured to play the villain, but the RRR director has not divulged any details about the plot or cast of this much-anticipated Telugu movie.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj's Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, will release in theatres on March 27, 2025.
