After Yash’s statement on dissociating himself from director Shieladitya Moulik and Jarek Entertainment’s Cheena Badaam, the director and the producer Ena Saha – also the lead actress – held a press conference on June 7. Ena told the media that she and her team are sad and shocked but together they will carry on with the promotions of Chhena Badaam, which is set to release on June 10.

On June 5, Yash took to his social media and wrote that the decision is due to ‘creative differences’ with the production house, Jarek Entertainment, and director, Shieladitya Moulik.

Addressing the aspect of creative differences, Ena said that the team and the director have been open to all sorts of creative suggestions from all the departments. “A lot of different departments come together to make a film. Like all the other projects that I worked on, many crew members and artistes came forward with their suggestions. I suggested what I thought to be the best and so did Yash and Shielada (Shieladitya). Some are accepted and some are not. The problem is that we do not know what the difference is. After his statement, we tried to reach out but he was unavailable. Yash and I are friends. I don’t have any grudge or complaint against him. We are friends and that’s why we worked together on three films in a row. And that’s why I am sad, shocked and worried about the future of the film. But we will make it happen,” said Ena. After Cheena Badaam, Yash, along with his beau Nusrat, worked in Shieladitya’s next, Mastermoshai Apni Kichu Dakhenni, which is also produced by Ena.

Shieladitya also cleared the air about the social media claim of Yash's racial remark. “I don’t know if we can call it a racial statement. But I can explain the chain of events. After recording and shooting three songs for the film, we wanted to shoot the fourth song, the title track. This song encapsulates the essence of the film – a celebration of friendship. Ena suggested a street dancer, Saikat, who did a very good job in performing the song. Yash was not convinced with the fresh shooting of the fourth song. But we felt differently. While working on the song, Yash passingly commented, ‘Who is this black guy’ suggesting Saikat. Maybe the rumour of ‘racial’ comment brewed from there but I am totally unsure about his ‘racial’ intention,” the director clarified.
