Gandhada Gudi has been winning hearts all over as a bona fide cinematic experience. Aside from the fact that the film marks Puneeth Rajkumar’s final on-screen appearance, moviegoers have reacted positively to the breathtaking visuals and the vast land and waterscapes that the film traverses. In the same vein, several noted names from the Kannada Film Industry have showered praise on the efforts of the team with many hailing the film as the fitting tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar’s legacy.
Kantara actor-director Rishab Shetty, who watched the film along with his peers and fellow admirers at the special premiere show on October 27, spoke to the media to share his thoughts on Gandhada Gudi. “What I feel right now can’t be expressed in words,” he would say before talking about the essence of the documentary and how it perfectly captures the Powerstar’s outlook towards life.
“Everyone can become heroes on screen but to become one in real life, to be universally loved and accepted, I feel this film presents Appu sir’s message to the world beautifully. And I feel he was able to experience everything that he wanted to in life and the film shows exactly that. In a way, he has also told us that one must learn new things in the journey of life – I would urge every Kannadiga, regardless of where they live, to go and watch Gandhada Gudi and if you want to learn about the man’s journey, you must watch the film,” said Rishab Shetty.
In his recent chat with OTTplay, Rishab Shetty expressed disappointment in not being able to attend the Puneeth Parva event on October 21. Owing to other commitments outside the country, Rishab shared that all he wishes to do is get back to India and watch Gandhada Gudi along with all the fans and be part of the celebrations.
Interestingly, though Puneeth Rajkumar and Rishab Shetty have not collaborated before, the latter has previously shared that he, at one point, envisioned the Powerstar to play the lead role in Kantara but the prospects would not come through eventually due to scheduling and other conflicts.
