The show pairs Aindrita Ray with Rohit Roy and should be on MX Player by the end of the year.

Aindrita Ray is quite kicked about her big Hindi film release, the Pratik Gandhi-led Bhavai, which was supposed to come out on October 1, but has now been pushed to October 22 as theatres are reopening in Mumbai too. But that’s not the only exciting development for her at the moment. “This year, I also shot for my first Hindi web series Sanak, produced by Vikram Bhatt and directed by his daughter Krishna, in which I co-star Rohit Roy. This was my first experience of working with a female director and it was good fun. I think men were outnumbered on the set of this show. We’ve just finished shooting for it and should be out in another 2-3 months on MX Player. I am also signing up for a film with Vikram sir, but that is still in discussion stages,” she says.
Interestingly, Aindrita’s husband, actor Diganth had his first Hindi web show, Ramyug, also on MX Player, earlier this year. “The coincidence is also that while Diganth played Ram on his show, in my film Bhavai, I am an actress who is Sita onstage. I shot for Bhavai first and about two months later, Diganth was on the set of Ramyug; where, strange as it may sound, he had the same makeup team that worked with me. Both his show and my film have 2021 releases. It’s strange how it all fell in place,” she laughs.
Does that mean Aindrita is spending a lot of time in Mumbai, now that she has a lot of work happening there? “Not really. I am currently shuttling between Bengaluru and Mumbai because I have been promoting Bhavai, but otherwise I am more often back home, where I have three upcoming Kannada releases as well, Garuda, Premam Poojyam and a film with Diganth called Kshamisi Nimma Khaatheyalli Hannavilla,” she says.
