Exclusive | Mother’s Day 2023: My Mother's Day is going to be on the set with my on-screen daughter, says Sneha Wagh

Hi Sneha! A little birdie told us that this year’s Mother’s Day is going to be extra special for you?
Yes... this year’s Mother's Day is going to be special indeed, because I am getting into a mom's character for ‘Neerja’ who has this special relationship with her daughter. So yeah, I think my Mother's Day is going to be on the set with my on-screen daughter.

Your mother is an awesome cook. Isn't it so?
Actually, my mom cooks amazing, amazing food. Everything that she makes is simply brilliant. And you can see the weight I gain when I am at home! (smiles). The best food that my mother makes is what I love the most. It is ‘Methi Ki bhaji’. You know, the green Methi which she makes in a typically Maharashtrian style... she makes it amazingly well.

Your most favorite memory of your mother?
My favourite memory of my mom is when I was a little kid and there was this dance competition. It was my first dance competition, where I actually won first prize. And the way she was showing to everyone with immense pride.. I still cannot forget that. I think that is one of my favorite moments of my mother. I have many memories, but I think that is like first and very close to my heart.

What role has your mother played in your upbringing?
My mom is very strong. She has been the biggest pillar in my life... right from my childhood till date, she has been my support system. Actually, it was like whatever I do today, it is because of her. Because somewhere she wanted to see me like this, you know, she wanted to make me. I mean, professionally, she wanted me to be.

Have you ever got beaten up by your mother as a child?
When I was a little kid, I remember that she used to beat me for dance class when I use to not understand. That was because I was hardly three years old, but she used to just make me go there and sit even though I was not dancing. It was like learn, learn, learn... she had she has made me learn so many things in my life in my childhood that are actually helping me today in my profession. So, I think somewhere down the line, she knew that I was going to do something great in my life. And she just pushed me towards it.
