Exclusive! Rahul Banerjee, Saayoni Ghosh, Saurav Das, and Arunima Ghosh’s new series Politricks deals with politics and other games

Local politics and the tricks of the trade are the basic premise of a web series that will feature Saayoni Ghosh, Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee, Saurav Das, and Arunima Ghosh. Directed by Debaditya Bandyopadhyay of 8:08 Er Bongaon Local, the series will be dropped on Camelia’s OTT platform, Friday. The working title of the series is Politricks. The shooting has already started and will go on till December 14.

According to sources, the story delves into the life of a man and his wife, and their ambition to win an election. The man and the wife will be played by Saurav and Arunima. Rahul will be seen as an insurance agent and Saayoni, as a daughter of a politician. “The show will represent a slice of local politics without naming any particular party. Saayoni and Rahul’s characters have antagonist shades,” sources said. 

Actress-turned-politician Saayoni has impressed the audience in Raj Chakraborty’s Abar Proloy. It will be interesting to see her working on a show that deals with politics. On the other hand, Saurav Das is also busy preparing for his wedding with Darshana Banik. His part of the shooting is scheduled to end by December 12 as he will be on wedding holidays.

Friday is an OTT platform that is scheduled to be launched next year. Owned by Camellia Productions, the platform has already commissioned a number of shows, including Arindam Sil’s Unishe April. On the other hand, he will start his next web series Adarsha Hindu Hotel. Based on Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’s novel, the series will feature Mosharraf Karim, Ananya Chatterjee, Ushasi Ray, and others.
