Exclusive! Swastika Dutta: If I get time and find the right man, I’ll surely get into a relationship

Swastika Dutta has been busy. From television to films and web series – the actress has been working widely across the platforms. She paired up with Shantanu Maheshwari in Pratim D Gupta’s Chaalchitro which also features Tota Roychowdhury and others. Now she has completed her shooting of Premendu Bikash Chaki’s Aalap with Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty.

“Aalap is by far one of the best experiences for me. It was a fabulous characterisation. It captures the emotional dilemma of Gen Z very well. My Character Swatilekha talks less but is very assertive,” said Swastika, adding, “I had so much fun shooting this film that I’m rather sad that it’s over. Chakida (director) is one of the most sorted directors I have worked with. He just knows what he doesn’t want. The way he keeps his direction and an overall eye on the cinematography is brilliant.”

Swastika has worked with Abir before in Fatafati and Biye Bibhrat. “I have worked with Abirda and I’m very comfortable working with him. Mimidi came as a surprise. She is a big star and I was a little sceptical about how would she be on the floors. Will she be temperamental and snooty? To my surprise, she is fabulous to work with. She offers you space and is very encouraging,” she said. 

Swastika is submerged in work right now. She broke up with musician Shovan Ganguly last year. Does the constant social media posts and reports affect her? “Absolutely not. I am pretty busy with my life and my family. By nature, I pamper myself so much that I barely get time to be bothered about other things,” said the actress, who evidently moved on.

Will she be dating anytime soon? “I am at this age when I don’t want to spend a couple of years on trial and error. I will settle down in my own good time. Right now I am bogged down with work. If and when I get time and find the right man for me, I will surely date. One thing I learnt in my life is that one should never rush into anything,” Swastika signed off.
