Exclusive! Why does everyone call Adhvithi Shetty Google?

Adhvithi Shetty is a woman on the move. The Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari and Girgitle fame actress is constantly travelling for her work and other commitments, be it for her movies, as a judge on season six of the dance reality show Dance Mummy Dance, or to receive a social media influencer award in Goa. And all along, the actress and dancer is constantly observing everything around her and picking up myriad information.

OTTplay caught up with Adhvithi recently as she gears up to start work on her next film, Racer, based on bike racing which marks the film debut of real-life professional superbike racer Sandesh Prasannakumar. During a candid conversation about films and more, Adhvithi revealed that her film teams, friends and even family have a special nickname for her — Google.

Why Google, we ask Adhvithi? The actress says with a chuckle, “Whenever we have some conversation between shots on set or when I am getting ready, I tend to give out some information that others usually would not know about. I keep updating myself on a variety of things, both within and outside the film industry. So, I am always on top of things, like which actor is doing what movie, and more. And all this is news that is not even out yet — no one would have known about it. I get all this information through my sources (laughs). I even get to know the release dates of all the films before it becomes common knowledge. So, my movie team calls me Google and they ask me if there is anything that I don’t know about. Even my sister (actress and dancer Ashvithi Shetty) and friends keep getting amazed at how updated I am. The thing is that I am very sharp and I observe a lot wherever I am. So, this is something that comes naturally to me,” says Adhvithi.  

Adhvithi rose to fame with her first outing, 2014’s Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, which had Yash and Radhika Pandit in lead roles. The actress next featured Suli with her twin sister Ashvithi Shetty in 2016, and has also done solo projects such as Kaarmoda Saridu, Girgitle. 

She is currently awaiting the release of her films Sugar Factory, Iravan, Dheera Samrat, 1888, Brahma Kamala and Mr Beggar. She is also gearing up to begin work on filmmaker Bharath VJ’s next on bike racing, titled Racer. 

Adhvithi is also a judge on the dance reality show Dance Mummy Dance Season 6.
