Lock Upp saw an interesting mix of wild card contestants, one of who was Zeeshan Khan. After bonding with ‘Team Green’ aka Mandana Karimi, Vinit Kakar and Ali Mercchant, Zeeshan showed his brotherhood towards Munawar Faruqui. When we spoke to the actor, we asked him about it and he happened to mention that the two have made plans to catch up once Kangana Ranaut’s show ends.

As soon as Zeeshan entered the show, Kaaranvir Bohra was evicted. He also named KV and unintentionally (or that’s what he has maintained), Zeeshan evicted a strong contestant like KV from Lock Upp. Soon after, he got closer to Munawar’s Team Blue. Explaining the situation, Zeeshan said, “The kind of person I am, it’s all about how a person talks to me. If you’re nice to me, I’ll be twice as nice with you.”

The actor did agree that he took advantage of evicting KV from the show. “Now, what happened with KV is that in the task was that I had decided I wanted to join the orange team. When Payal told me about Munawar, I would see him in a very different way. I would think that he’s really cunning and is trying to play games with me, which maybe Munawar was, I don’t know but I had this perception about him that Payal had built. Again, having said that, I was okay, I just need to be careful. I wanted to see how it goes with time. With KV, I knew that if I take KV out of that team, it will break the whole balance. So, when I got the opportunity, I went ahead with it. KV got out and I was like that’s it. There is no performer in that team,” he said.

Zeeshan then spoke about Shivam Sharma’s performance and said, “The only one is Shivam who looks like a performer but isn’t one. I proved that to him in the calorie burning task, where he burned 400 and I burned 600 in the same given time. His mouth was shut. He had nothing to say and was giving excuses. Even if I gave him half an hour more, he wouldn’t reach my target. That is where he understood and I established it to everyone that I am the strongest player in the game.”

Speaking about making Team Orange stronger with his presence, Zeeshan added, “I destroyed everyone in tasks. Every task where Payal listened to me, I made her and my team win. Every time I and our team lost, it was because of other people’s ego. Even during the tug-of-war, I was fasting and I had a swollen ankle, that I put spray on and still, I single-handedly destroyed the opposite team. I knew what I was capable of. Having KV out of there, I knew that is it. It’s game over for KV and Team Blue because obviously, I’m here now in the orange team. I said that if they put the hand of friendship first, they would have been the winning team.”

Zee (as he was called on the show) also spoke about his changing equation with Munawar and said, “As time passed, I saw Payal’s true colours and irrespective of us being in opposite teams, I always had this bond with Munawar that the competition was healthy. It was never wise, dirty or disgusting where we try to go at each other. Even during the auction process, I told Munawar ‘ain’t gonna get me this time bro.’ He was like he would use all his coins on me if I was there. That’s how we started bonding. Everytime we would win tasks, I would be like, ‘I’m here’ and every time we lost, he would come up to me and be like ‘Bol na abhi bol na I’m here.’ The reason we both bonded was because we have a lot of things in common. From his dark secret also being similar to one of the things that happened in my life to the way we talk, food we eat, street food we love and all of that. When we bonded, I felt that he’s a genuine person. I knew he’s playing a very smart game and respected that. At the end of the day, it’s a very smart game. If you ask me, who I see in the finals, which he also asked me, I saw the two of us but I would pick that trophy up. We literally became like brothers. That is how it started. It started on hearsay but then we figured out how we are and actually bonded for real. There were times when he would take my side over friends he had from the beginning like Saisha and Poonam. That’s how well we bonded. We would make fun of Ali during Sehri.”

When we asked Zeeshan if he would stay friends with Munawar even after Lock Upp ends, he revealed they made plans and said, “Of course. In fact, we already have plans. He told me that he makes the best sheesha (hookah). I almost backed out because it is too much work. He has called me over to his place with even Reyhna (Pandit, Zeeshan’s girlfriend) only so he can make sheesha for us. I told him that I need two tickets for his shows and he said that goes without saying. I said that when he goes to UK, I will talk to my best friend in the whole world, Sid, who will take him around to the best places in London and he already loves you and knew you even before I knew you. We already have things planned. Our sheesha session is remaining so yeah, when he comes out, all of that will happen. You will see a picture of me, Ali, Reyhna and Prince with Munawar.”
