Ever since Kannada cinema’s Queen Bee Ramya left films to pursue a career in politics, fans have been hopeful that she would return to acting at some point. Eight years since her last release, Ramya had announced that she was indeed making a comeback and launched her production wing as well. Ramya had said that her home production Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye would mark her return, but then plans changed and Raj B Shetty’s film got Siri Ravikumar in the lead, instead. The official social media page of Ramya’s Apple Box Studios posted that she would announce her comeback soon.

While that is still up in the air and with rumours flying thick and fast about an impending announcement this week, the actress had a comeback of sorts with a promotional video that she did for an upcoming Kannada film called Hostel Hudugaru Bekagidare. The promo has the team of the film and a bunch of die-hard fans of the actress hankering for her to return to cinema and act in Hostel Hudugadu Bekagidare, which she agrees to, provided “they can afford her”.

While the promo got netizens wondering if this would be Ramya’s comeback movie, turns out that she is only part of their publicity material. Irrespective, fans have been taking to social media to welcome her back. Messages ranged from, “Finally Queen is back”, to “Welcome back, Queen” and more, there was no stopping the love coming her way.

Meanwhile, fans are still waiting on word about Ramya’s actual acting comeback. A collaboration with Raj B Shetty was eagerly awaited, but that was not to be. So, who will be the lucky one who gets to bring her back to the big screen? If the rumours in industry circles are to be believed, we will know for sure on November 6.
