Fast X: Vin Diesel announces official title of Fast and Furious 10, film goes on floors

The upcoming tenth instalment in the Fast and Furious film franchise has finally got its official title. Titled Fast X, the film has officially gone into production today.

Franchise star Vin Diesel took to his official social media handles to announce the news, and unveiled the official title poster and logo of the film as well. The actor captioned the post “Day one… 🙏🏽” .

The official handle of the film series also shared the poster, captioning it “Fasten your seat belts. FAST X is now in production.”

The upcoming film features an ensemble cast led by Diesel, featuring stars who have been a part of previous films as well as new joinees to the franchise. Cardi B,Jason Momoa and Brie Larson are the new faces joining the fast saga, with the latter’s involvement in the film being announced a few days ago by Diesel. Returning cast members such as Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Luke Evans, Lucas Black, Don Omar, Tego Calderón, Jordana Brewster and Sung Kang.

Diesel had publicly requested Dwayne Johnson, who essayed the role of secret agent Lucas Hobbs, to join the upcoming film. This was after Johnson had announced that he would not be returning for further films in the franchise. The Jumanji star had slammed Diesel over the post, calling the latter ‘manipulative’.

The upcoming film will be helmed by Justin Lin, who has directed previous instalments in the franchise, namely The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious 6 (2013) and F9 (2021). Fast X will reportedly be followed by one more film in the franchise, said to be the last. Lin is expected to return as director for the eleventh instalment in the franchise as well.

Fast X is slated for release sometime in 2023.
