The second season of Netflix’s series, Feel Good, is set for release on June 4. The makers announced the release date with the trailer of the show, starring Mae Martin in the lead role.
Watch the trailer here:
In the clip, Mae is seen as a woman who deals with real problems, or rather avoids them. She is in need of therapy that her parents help her with, but she just isn’t sure if she could deal with that too at the moment.
Sure, Mae has her reasons. She is stuck in the past - a complicated one at that. The girl she was in a relationship with, suddenly realised that she isn’t gay anymore and slept with a guy only for Mae to find out about them and go on a path of self-destruction.
At the same time, she’s cool enough to mock the situation in front of a large audience, through her stand-up comedy acts much like in Mae’s real life.
There’s even a scene during a therapy session where Mae remarks that she doesn’t identify herself as a woman anymore, but rather as Adam Driver or Ryan Gosling. Soon enough, a recruiter suggests she turn into John Wick instead and Mae instantly agrees to the idea.
