It was reported earlier that Abishek Ambareesh would soon be collaborating with DOP and filmmaker Krishna for a film set in the '90s. The previous reports also stated that an official confirmation is awaited from the makers and it would seem that Rebel Star Ambareesh's birth anniversary has lent the auspicious moment for this announcement. Both Abishek Ambareesh and Krishna took to social media earlier today to unveil the first look of the project titled 'Kaali' and remembered the former's father on the special day.
"New beginnings, need all your blessings," wrote Abishek while DOP Krishna urged all the fans and followers to wish the best for the "young rebel star" ahead of the new journey. Abishek Ambareesh's towering presence and the intense look on his face, against the backdrop of riots and an inferno, suggest that the film will feature action and emotional elements quite prominently. As per online reports, Kaali is a romantic drama that is set during the Kaveri protests that occurred in Karnataka during the early 1990s. Krishna writes and directs the film with Swapna Krishna producing the film under the banner of RRR Motion Pictures.
This will be Abishek Ambareesh's third outing as a lead actor after making his debut with Amar. He is currently busy shooting for Duniya Suri's Bad Manners and the film is said to be in the last leg of production - Rachita Ram and Priyanka Kumar are the female leads while Sharath Lohithashwa and Tara play other key roles in the film. Abishek is expected to begin shooting for Kaali once he wraps up Bad Manners and is also rumored to be collaborating with Madhagaja director S. Mahesh Kumar in the coming weeks.
