Matthew Perry, who played the iconic role of Chandler in the sitcom, FRIENDS, shockingly passed away at the age of 54. It's been reported that the actor died apparently drowning in his hot tub at his home. Initial reports claimed that there were no drugs found at the scene and no foul play was involved, however, the investigation is still going on.

FRIENDS is one of the most loved show of all time. Perry was just 25, when the show began in 1994. The show catapulted the late actor to superstardom. Although the show was not so popular back in the '90s, as soon as it completed its live broadcast, the series became famous across the world, as it is still considered the most loved comedy show.

FRIENDS is streaming hot now

Now it's been reported that FRIENDS has been the No.1 show from the past week in the US. A survey says that it is because of Perry's death. From October 30 till November 5, FRIENDS topped the list of most-watched TV shows among American viewers, as per data collected by streaming guide JustWatch. The series, which is available on Warner Bros. Discovery's platform, Max, was followed by the limited series, All the Light We Cannot See on Netflix, and Gen V on Prime Video.

Following Matthew Perry's death on October 28, Max added a tribute card that now appears at the beginning of each season in his honour. JustWatch claimed that it has almost 40 million viewers, across 139 countries.

FRIENDS is a story about 6 New Yorkers, who live in the same apartment, where 2 of them are siblings – Ross and Monica, one is a roommate – Joey, and others are friends – Chandler, Rachel and Phoebe.
