Kate Winslet rushed to hospital following leg injury

Acclaimed actress Kate Winslet was rushed to a hospital after she slipped and hurt her leg during the filming of her upcoming film in Croatia. As per the latest reports, the actress is recovering and will resume production this week. Winslet will play the role of World War II photojournalist Lee Miller in the historical drama Lee which is being helmed by Ellen Kuras, who has worked as a cinematographer in several films including Winslet’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Woody Allen plans to retire from filmmaking

Oscar-winning director Woody Allen is planning to retire from filmmaking after the release of his next project. The 86-year-old filmmaker said that he wishes to focus on writing a novel following the release of his 50th film, Wasp 22. As per reports, the film will be shot in Paris and will star Isabelle Huppert. Though details about the project are kept under wraps, Allen said that the film will be similar in tone to his 2005 psychological thriller Match Point.

The Fabelmans wins the People's Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival

Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival. Sarah Polley’s Women Talking and Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery took the second and third places, respectively. The people's choice documentary award was bagged by Hubert Davis’s Black Ice with 752 Is Not a Number and Maya and the Wave receiving runner-up mentions.

OTT releases of the week

Hush Hush

Amazon Prime Video’s original series Hush Hush starring Juhi Chawla, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Shahana Goswami, and Karishma Tanna will premiere on the platform this Thursday. Created by Tanuja Chandra, the series follows four rich women who get embroiled in a murder case. Juhi Chawla makes her digital debut with the series.

The Kardashians S2

The second season of the reality series The Kardashians will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 22nd. New episodes of the series will release every Thursday. As per reports, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kris, Kylie, and Kendall will be joined by their current and former partners in the show.

Jamtara S2

Season two of Jamtara starring Amit Sial, Monika Panwar, and Sparsh Shrivastava will release on Netflix on Friday. The crime drama series revolves around a group of men who operate a phishing organization. The season is expected to have 10 episodes.

Babli Bouncer

Hindi film Babli Bouncer which stars Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on Friday. In the film, Bhatia plays Babli, a small-town girl who makes it big as a bouncer in Delhi. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, the film also stars Abhishek Bajaj, Sahil Vaid, Saanand Verma, and Saurabh Shukla.
