The Kissing Booth (2018) famed actor, Jacob Elordi has recently gave an outstanding performance as famous Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola’s musical-drama - Priscilla. The film is based on Presley’s memoir - Elvis and Me. The film delves into the private lives of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, offering a candid glimpse into their relationship. The film explores their years at Graceland, beginning at a time when Elvis was already an international star of 24 years old, while Priscilla was only 14 years old.

On the other hand, Colman Domingo garnered immense appreciation for the role Bayard Rustin. The film tells the true story of an activist and organiser, who worked closely with Martin Luther King Jr. and other heroes of the civil rights movement, but whose name might be less widely remembered: Bayard Rustin. The movie features several prominent figures from the civil rights movement, including Chris Rock portraying Roy Wilkins, Audra McDonald embodying Ella Baker, Aml Ameen stepping into the role of Martin Luther King Jr., Glynn Turman portraying A. Philip Randolph, Michael Potts taking on the character of Cleveland Robinson, and CCH Pounder playing Anna Arnold Hedgeman.

Jacob Elordi and Colman Domingo's exclusive interview

However, recently Jacob Elordi and Colman Domingo have come face-to-face for an exclusive interview for Variety's Actors On Actors. While recalling their first collaboration in Euphoria, the duo talked about their freedoms in their roles. In the HBO drama, the duo was seen only in two seasons, as Nate Jacobs and Ali Muhammed, but never shared any single scene together.

The actor-duo talks about their works in Euphoria

While recalling their work in Euphoria, Jacob began the conversation saying that their crossing path together was a gift. He shared that he was always intimidated to watch Colman’s work on the set of Euphoria. “I was at home last night doing research like I was about to play you in a movie or something because I was so nervous. I was like, “I need him to understand that I care the same way he does”, Elordi shared.

Colman congratulates Jacob

After hearing the 26-year-old actor’s perception about him, Colman congratulated him for his outstanding performances in Priscilla and Saltburn, and asked Elordi, “Do you still feel like you have freedom and liberty to almost go the opposite of me and play in some sandboxes that are not so shiny?”

To that question, Jacob replied, “I feel the most free in my career that I ever have. When I was 15, I was at an all-boys Catholic school. I was deeply unsettled and didn’t know why. In theater class, I read ‘Waiting for Godot’. I didn’t understand it, but something changed. Everything that I believed in just went out the window.”

Colman shares his experience working in Rustin

Lastly, Colman shared that working in Rustin helped him to learn leadership, conviction and intention. “When I moved into The Color Purple, I was looking into the darkness. People see [me as] this happy-go-lucky person, but I have everything that Mister has in me. I just make a choice every day to live in the light. But I could go to the dark place too. And that’s human”, Domingo added.
