Richa Chadha, who was a part of the cast in the 2013 hit Fukrey and its sequel Fukrey Returns confirmed that the third instalment of the buddy comedy franchise will begin its filming in February.
Talking to PTI, Chadha said, "We are ready, we are going to shoot the film next month. It is happening full-on. I have my costume trial scheduled, I am taking horse riding lessons for it. The film is going to be bigger, better, I am really excited."
The actor has confirmed the news and also added that she has already begun preparing for her role in the third Fukrey movie. The production of the movie was supposed to begin earlier, but faced delays due to the pandemic.
The actor also added that she loves the director and that she is friends with the cast. The film will be shot across five or six cities. Chadha also hints at the movie’s premise, calling it “ridiculous” but made believable by the cast.
Chadha played gangster Bholi Punjaban in the first movie, which later became one of the fan-favourite characters from the movie. She reprised her role in the 2017 sequel.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the movie is backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment. The Fukrey franchise also stars Ali Fazal, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh, Vishakha Singh, Priya Anand, and Pankaj Tripathi, among others.
Chadha, who was previously seen in the third season of the highly successful Inside Edge on Amazon Prime Video, is also awaiting the release of the crime mystery drama The Great Indian Murder, which will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on February 4, 2022.
