Back in November, when Golden Star Ganesh’s Sakkath released, forget talking about new signings, the actor was not even willing to discuss his films that are ready and gearing up for release, namely Gaalipata 2 and Tribble Riding. The latest buzz in Gandhinagar circles is that Ganesh, who is back on TV with the show Golden Gang, is committed to yet another film with Tribble Riding director Mahesh Gowda.
This new film, according to reports, will be produced by Samruddhi Manjunath, who had earlier made Life Jothe Ondu Selfie, directed by Dinaker Thoogudeepa. This will be Manjunath’s first film with Ganesh. There is no word on when this film will kick off, as Ganesh is also collaborating with director Suni yet again, for their third project together after Chamak and Sakath, called The Story of Rayagada. The Suni film is a dark comedy set in the 80s, and was announced in July last year on the occasion of Ganesh’s birthday. The plan was to go on floors in early 2022, as Suni has also been busy with the release of his Sharan film Avatara Purusha, which is coming out in two parts. At the moment, though, Avatara Purusha has been pushed ahead indefinitely owing to the pandemic and there’s no word on an official launch for The Story of Rayagada.
Mahesh Gowda, we hear, has been giving finishing touches to Tribble Riding, a film in which Ganesh is paired with three leading ladies, Aditi Prabhudeva, Megha Shetty and Rachana Inder, while Ravishankar Gowda, Sadhu Kokila and Rangayana Raghu will be seen in pivotal roles. Ganesh is also looking forward to the release of Gaalipata 2, which reunites him with director Yograj Bhat. The film also stars Diganth, Pawan Kumar, Sharmiela Mandre, Vaibhavi Shandilya and Samyukta Menon, with Nishvika Naidu in an important cameo.
A formal announcement of their new collaboration is expected once the current pandemic subsides a wee bit and some sense of normalcy is restored. If Ganesh and Mahesh are actually working together, it ties in with the actor leaning towards repeated collaborations with filmmakers he is comfortable with, like Yogaraj Bhat, S Narayan, Suni, etc.
