Alia Bhatt's Gangubai has got another feather in its cap. The crime drama, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has made a mark in the 100 crore club of Bollywood within a week of its release. The film has been receiving a tremendous response from critics and audiences alike. Alia Bhatt's performance as the gangster has especially been heaping praises.
The makers shared a post on their official social media handles, announcing the news. On Instagram, they posted a poster, tagging the actors and other crew members and wrote in the caption, "Itna saara pyaar dene ke liye THEEEENK YOUUUU 🤍."

The film earned ₹10.50 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day and ₹39.12 crores on the weekend. The film has now collected over Rs 108 crore worldwide as of March 4.
The film premiered at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival before its theatrical release on February 25. Produced by Jayantilal Gada and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film also features Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles. The film is loosely based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas. It is inspired by a chapter from the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, written by S. Hussain Zaidi.
