Directed by Arun Varma, the thriller film is slated to hit the theatres in November
Actor-politician Suresh Gopi’s upcoming film Garudan is gearing up for its theatrical release. The makers have unveiled a few posters and BTS videos of the movie, helmed by debutant director Arun Varma. Now, the producer of Garudan, Listin Stephen, has released a video of the making of the film on social media. He has also confirmed that the film will hit the theatres in November.
The clip features Garudan’s lead actors - Suresh and Biju Menon. Going by the tone of the video, it seems the film will revolve around a police investigation. It also shows Biju, who plays a professor in the movie, singing a song. Midhun Manuel Thomas, who is known for directing films like Aadu and Anjaam Pathiraa, has written the script for Garudan.
Garudan’s storyline and lead characters
In the teaser of the film, Suresh appears in a stylish and rugged avatar, fighting with a few people wearing a helmet. According to the director, The Paapan actor will portray an armed police commandant in the film.
In an exclusive chat with OTTplay earlier, Arun also revealed that the movie is a blend of an investigative and a courtroom drama, with all the necessary commercial elements. The characters played by Biju and Suresh are not larger than life, but rather raw and grounded, the director added.
Biju Menon and Suresh Gopi’s upcoming projects
The shooting for Biju’s upcoming film with Meppadiyan director Vishnu Mohan is complete. Touted to be a love story, the film features Nikhila Vimal as the female lead. Biju is also roped in to play a pivotal role in an Asif Ali movie, directed by Jis Joy. The Vellimoonga actor is also shooting for a movie titled Thundu. It’s a comedy entertainer, directed by Riyas Shereef.
Meanwhile, Suresh will be seen next in JSK (Janaki vs State of Kerala) - a courtroom drama, written and directed by Pravin Narayan. This marks his return to legal dramas, after the success of Chinthamani Kolacase.
