Gisele Bündchen opens up on divorce from Tom Brady: Sometimes you grow together, sometimes apart

Gisele Bündchen has opened up on her divorce from Tom Brady for the first time since they parted ways in late 2022. She spoke about wanting a family life, not having regrets and the tough times in her life. Gisele and Tom separated in October of 2022 after being married for 13 years. They are parents to two children.

No regrets

During her interview with CBS News Sunday on September 24, Gisele explained that she has no regrets about the divorce from Tom. She refused to change anything in her life, since after reflecting on her life, she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Wanted love to grow owing to parents’ love

Gisele hoped to grow with Tom. She saw how her parents are married for 50 years and that is what she wanted out of her marriage too. However, she was made to accept that sometimes people grow together and sometimes, they grow apart. “I think you have to accept, you know, sometimes that the way you are in your 20s, sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart,” she said.

Having said that, she understands that Tom is the father of her two kids and thus, she hopes for the best for him. She is also grateful to him for blessing her with their kids and now, Gisele believes she’s not just surviving but living. Gisele had previously told People in an interview (on September 18) that things have been tough for her and her family lately.

The reason behind their divorce?

Gisele did not reveal the reason behind the divorce but did share what did not cause their split. Tom un-retiring from NFL was not what led to their divorce, she told Vanity Fair in March. She has also shut down rumours about dating her Jiu Jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. Gisele has remained mum on Tom’s rumoured romance with Russian model Irina Shayk. The rumours began after Tom and Irina attended a wedding in June and were seen together throughout the summer since.
