It’s no secret that director Alphonse Puthren takes his own sweet time during the post production of his film before it hits theatres. The final result at least in the previous case of Premam has been outstanding. Given that his next venture Gold is also his first directorial in the past seven years, the expectations have been sky high.
While the filmmaker has been routinely sharing updates about the movie during this interactions with social media users, the latest is that the first poster of Gold, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in the lead, will be released on June 6.
Last month, the director had said that he was busy with the final edit, visual effects, poster design as well as the music of the film. Alphonse, who has not only scripted and directed Gold, has also handled its editing, action, VFX and colour grading.
The first teaser of the film, which was released in March, has already amassed close to 8 million views online with majority coming in the first few days of it dropping online. The Premam director had said that he had tried four different versions of the teaser before zeroing in on the current one. The short clip introduced Prithviraj and Nayanthara’s characters Joshi S and Sumangali Unnikrishnan, respectively.
It also revealed the extensive cast list of the film that includes Lalu Alex, Ajmal Amir, Chemban Vinod Jose, Roshan Mathew, Baburaj, Sudeesh, Deepti Sati, Prem Kumar, Saiju Kurup, Jaffer Idukki, Vinay Forrt, Shanti Krishna, Krishna Sankar, Shabareesh Varma and Jagadeesh. The movie will also have cameos from other leading actors.
In a recent interview, Prithviraj also talked about the film saying that it was a “signature Alphonse Puthren movie” and that he had no other claims to make about it. “I have always wanted to work with him and after this I still want to do more films with him,” said the actor, who is currently shooting for Aadujeevitham in Jordan.
