The upcoming film will be the first time collaboration of the National Award winning actor with director Alphonse Puthren.
With a string of films simmering in his kitty at the moment, Mollywood icon Prithviraj Sukumaran seems to show no signs of slowing down. The star has let out some exciting details of his upcoming film Gold, in which he will star alongside actress Nayanthara.
In conversation with Pinkvilla, the National Award winning actor revealed that the film will have an impressive star-studded cast featuring almost 47 names other than himself and Nayanthara.
The Malayalam star also had nothing but good things to say of the film’s director Alphonse Puthren, with whom he will be collaborating for the first time with Gold. He says the upcoming film will be a ‘breezy entertainer’ that is the trademark of the director, one that will be similar to Alphonse’s directorial debut Neram. The 2013 bilingual thriller, starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim, had become a critical and commercial success.
Prithviraj also talked of how Gold was a reinvigorating role for him as an actor. He also added how it wasn't often that he got a chance to be a part of a film such as this.
Gold will be bankrolled by the star’s Prithviraj Productions, along with Magic Frames.
The upcoming film will be Alphonse’s third directorial venture. His last film Premam had also gone on to become an instant hit.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj has his hands full with projects. The star has recently wrapped up filming his second directorial venture, the Mohanlal starrer Bro Daddy. His third directorial will be the sequel to 2019’s Lucifer, also starring Mohanlal. The film is expected to go on floors next year.
Some of the actors' upcoming releases include Adujeevitham, Kappa and Kaduva.
