Here's Sofia Vergara in a completely new light. In the new drama series Griselda, the seasoned actor plays the role of La Jefa, or The Boss, to perfection. Vergara plays the title role in the Netflix original series on Griselda Blanco, which premieres on the streaming service on January 25, 2024.
The story of Griselda Blanco
The new series is based on the life of Griselda Blanco, a shrewd and ambitious Colombian businesswoman who rose to prominence as "the godmother" of the criminal underworld. One of the most successful criminal organisations in history was founded by a dedicated mother, and her story is told in Griselda. The series will show how she managed both her professional and personal lives with ease by using a combination of charm and brutality that surprised even her.

Sofia Vergara's perspective
Earlier, while talking about the series, Vergara said in a statement that Griselda Blanco was a larger-than-life figure who ruled a billion-dollar empire with ruthless but cunning techniques long before the time of many of the most prominent male kingpins people are familiar with today. They are overjoyed to have Eric, Andrés, and Netflix on board to help us bring her life story to the big screen.
Eric Newman (Painkiller), Doug Miro, Ingrid Escajeda, and Carlo Bernard wrote all of Griselda's episodes, which each last a full six hours. Newman and Andrés Baiz, who directed every episode of Narcos and Narcos: Mexico, are back for this limited series. Luis Balaguer has also executive produced the series for Latin World Entertainment.
The series also stars Alberto Guerra, Vanessa Ferlito, Martin Rodriguez, Alberto Ammann, Christian Tappan, Diego Trujillo, Paulina Dávila, Gabriel Sloyer, Juliana Aidén Martinez, and José Zúñiga in supporting roles.
