Harshvardhan Rane is returning with Sanam Teri Kasam 2; here's when it might hit theatres

9 years later, Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's tragic love story Sanam Teri Kasam got its due, finally! On February 7, 2025, the makers re-released the film in theatres alongside Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor's Loveyapa, and Himesh Reshammiya's Badass Ravikumar. The re-release took everyone by surprise as it went on to cross its original lifetime earnings, which is highly appreciated. Now amid the ongoing craze for Sanam Teri Kasam, the makers have spilled the beans on the sequel and we really can't keep calm! Here's what they said:

Script of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is ready

Harshvardhan and Mawra's Sanam Teri Kasam was directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The film, when it was released in 2016, flopped at the box office. It only started getting love after it made its debut on OTT. Now, the makers are all set to come up with its sequel and fans are already waiting with bated breath. In an interview with India Forums, Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru revealed that they have locked the script of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 and how things will proceed further. 

They said, "Actually, yeh jo kahani hai na, jab hum part one likh rahe the, toh at that time only it was written in two parts, you know. Toh humare paas second part ready hai, aur we are absolutely sure ke Inder ki kahani kahan ja rahi hai iske baad. That is why in the end he goes near that tree and Suru's voice echoes with her dialogues, which prepares you for part 2."

When will Sanam Teri Kasam 2 release?

The director duo also shared an update about releasing the sequel on Valentine's Day 2026. They said, "So we are ready with part two ki script, jo pehle se hi ready rakhi hui hai. Toh ab toh itna ho gaya hai ki part two agle Valentine pe toh laana hi padhega, because is Valentine pe everyone saw part 1. Exactly. Agle Valentine pe toh we have to bring what the audience wants. In fact, gaane bhi uske almost ready ho gaye hain humare paas. Right. So, for all the people who loved Sanam Teri Kasam part one, part two is almost ready and it is in the pipeline."

Meanwhile, speaking of the box office collections of the re-release, the film has collected Rs 18.50 crore to date. Till Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava arrives on February 14, Sanam Teri Kasam has a good chance to make the most of its run.
