Has Pathu Thala star Silambarasan TR sung a song in Vijay's Varisu?

If the buzz on social media is to go by, it looks like Silambarasan TR has sung a song in Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu. The team of Varisu comprising Vijay and the film's leading lady Rashmika Mandanna have been shooting for a song in Bellary since last week. The rest of the shoot for the film has been wrapped up, barring the climax scene which is said to be an action-packed one. Now we hear that the song has been sung by none other than Silambarasan himself. The actor wanted to do this as a sweet gesture celebrating their friendship. The second single is expected to be out early in December. Earlier, it was expected that it would be released on Thaman's birthday.

The first single from the film, Ranjithame sung by Thalapathy Vijay himself along with Manasi MM has become a chartbuster and has clocked more than 50 million views. Varisu marks the first ever collaboration between Thaman and Vijay and the composer had called this a dream come true.

Varisu also marks the debut venture of Vijay with director Vamshi Paidipally, who had earlier made Karthi's Thozha in Tamil. The film is said to be a family drama and action entertainer. The ensemble star cast includes Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Khushbu, Shaam, Srikanth, Sneha, Meena, Sangeetha Krish, Yogi Babu, Samyuktha and Ganesh Venkatram to name a few. Soon after the entire portions are wrapped up, the post production work will begin.

The film is slated to hit screens for Pongal and will clash with Ajith's Thunivu, a heist thriller directed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. The film will be distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. Silambarasan, on the other hand, has just wrapped up the shoot for his next Pathu Thala, which is helmed by Obeli N Krishna. The film is a remake of the Kannada neo noir action thriller Mufti.
