After a decade, three friends – Jeet, Tanuka, and Raj – reunite once again. In 2013, Parambrata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, and Rudranil Ghosh impressed the audience with Hawa Bodol. Many years have passed since then, and a lot has changed. Winds of change have swept through their lives. However, the bond between the three friends remains the same. Now they are all set to be back with Hawa Bodol 2. Directed by Parambrata the film also features Anusha Viswanathan. The Shubha Muharat took place recently in Kolkata.
In 2013, Parambrata, Raima, and Rudranil Ghosh starred in the film Hawa Bodol as Jeet, Tanuka, and Raj. Now, after a decade, there is a sequel to the film. The three friends met at the Muharat ceremony in Kolkata. Raima looked radiant in a green salwar suit. When asked about the changes over the years, she replied to the media, “I can’t speak for Param (Parambrata) and Rudra (Rudranil). But even after 10 years, I am the same. I haven’t changed.”
In this film, Raima plays the role of a mother to a 17-year-old boy named Kabir. The child she portrayed in their earlier movie is now grown up, and his name is Kabir. He is currently in the 12th grade. Usually, actresses feel a bit apprehensive about playing the role of a mother on screen. In an interview with Anandabazar Online, Raima said, “I don't believe in setting conditions for actors. I don’t have any set rule of not playing a character of a mother on the screen. I am willing to act if the character has depth.”
Despite working in Bengali films and web series, Raima is not pleased with the current trend of glamorous portrayal by other actresses. She believes that her work should revolve around her talent rather than focusing on glamour. She stated, “Nowadays, many people go overboard with makeup and look. I am comfortable being myself. What others do is their personal choice. I want to focus on my essence.”
The shooting for 'Hawa Bodol 2' will begin soon, and Parambrata, Rudranil, and Raima will be traveling to London for the film’s shoot.
