Hema Malini on Lata Mangeshkar's demise: It is a personal loss, lucky to have performed on hit songs she sang

Veteran vocalist Lata Mangeshkar passed away at Mumbai's Beach Candy hospital on February 6. Over her seven-decade-long illustrous career, many A-list Hindi film actresses including Hema Malini have performed to her songs.

The actor-turned-politician spoke about Mangeshkar's passing and said that she has been fortunate to feature in hit songs sung by the legend. The songs picturised on her include 'Tune O Rangeele', 'Na Jane Kya Hua', 'Mere Naseeb Mein', and 'Haan Jab Tak Hai Jaan', among others.

Hema Malini also mourned Mangeshkar's passing on Twitter and called February 6 "a dark day." She said that the singer's death seems like "a personal loss" to her.

Mangeshkar's body of work spans 30,000 songs in different Indian languages. She was among the second vocalist to have received the Bharat Ratna award after MS Subbulakshmi. Her other accolades include Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dada Saheb Phalke Award, and multiple National Film Awards.
