Here's the latest update on Silambarasan and Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu

As Silambarasan's upcoming film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu gears up for release on September 15, the makers are busy with the final works on the film. The film's director Gautham Menon announced that the visuals and DI have been locked. Sharing a picture with the technicians on his social media page, he wrote, "Images and colour in place and some black and white too. Visual and DI locked. Heading towards sept 15th and forever afterwards ! @_gbalaji @nunisiddhartha @IshariKGanesh @SilambarasanTR_ #VendhuThanindhadhuKaadu (sic)."

Musician AH Kaashif, who worked on the background score along with Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman, too, shared a picture from the recording studio which had him posing along with Gautham Menon, AR Rahman and Neeraj Madhav. He captioned it, "Grateful and Blessed to work on this amazing project , VTK Background Score on Full Swing (sic)."

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is an intense gangster drama that revolves around a poor man, Muthu, who goes on to become a huge gangster. The film captures his journey and his rise to fame. The trailer of the film was released recently by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan at a grant event in Chennai. The trailer gave a sneak peek of the journey of Muthu and his journey to become a dreaded gangster. Silambarasan had undergone a drastic body transformation for his character in the film.

Siddhi Idnani will be playing the leading lady in the film. The star cast also includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav, Siddique and Aangelina Abraham. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu marks a tectonic shift from Gautham Menon's previous ventures, which have mostly fallen in the romance genre.  The film is bankrolled by producer Ishari Ganesh's Vels International.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is also the third collaboration of the trio- Gautham Vasudev Menon, AR Rahman, and Silambasaran TR. They had earlier teamed up for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (2010) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016).
