The shoot for Vishal's upcoming film, Mark Antony, has resumed after a hiatus. The shoot was put on hold after Vishal got grievously injured multiple times on the set of his action entertainer Laththi. Mark Antony is directed by Adhik Ravichandran and the film has Ritu Varma playing the leading lady and SJ Suryah as the antagonist. The film has been touted as a pan-Indian project, which will hit screens in five languages, namely Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Interestingly, the film marks the maiden collaboration between Adhik Ravichandran and Vishal. The star cast also includes Sunil Verma and Nizhalgal Ravi. While the cinematography is by Abhinandan Ramanujam, the editing is handled by Vijay Velukutty. The title has been borrowed by one of the most inspiring characters from Superstar Rajinikanth's Baashha. The character Mark Antony was played by the late Raghuvaran. He was the antagonist in the film and his performance has been one of the most power-packed ones in the history of Tamil cinema.
In the meantime, Vishal is gearing up for the release of Laththi. Vishal plays a menacing, honest and upright constable in the film. The actor had revealed at the audio launch that police constables play a crucial role in our society and most times they are not given their due. Just like many other films, this one, too, is said to be loaded with action. Sunainaa plays the leading lady in the film, which is directed by debutant director Vinoth Kumar. The teaser showed him as a severely injured police constable who is trapped in a building under fire and takes on his enemies there.
While Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for Laththi, Balasubramaniem has cranked the camera. Peter Hein is in charge of the stunts. The film, which is bankrolled by actors Nandaa and Ramana, the film will be dubbed in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi as well.
