The first teaser of Tovino Thomas’ Minnal Murali that was released almost a year ago had the audience excited. For another glimpse, the fans had to wait till Netflix bought the rights of the movie and announced that it would release the movie on its platform on December 24. Viewers will now get another look and this time, maybe a good long one too, as Netflix gears up to release its first trailer on October 28.

Tovino took to his social media page to announce that the trailer of the movie will be revealed at 11am on Thursday. “A lot of sweat went into making this,” he said, adding that he hopes the fans are as excited as the team to see what they have in store.

The movie, directed by Basil Joseph, is sort of a superhero origin story. Set in the fictional village of Kurukanmoola, the movie revolves around Jason, who gets superhero powers after being struck by lightning. Set in the 90s as well as the present era, the film promises to be an action-packed entertainer that is sure to please all sections of audience.

Apart from Tovino in the lead, the movie also has Guru Somasundaram, who plays the super villain, Aju Varghese, Harishree Ashokan and debutante Femina George. The film is set to release in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi and English on Christmas eve on Netflix.

The big budget movie has Shaan Rahman handling the music while Sushin Shyam takes care of the background score. Samir Thahir has served as its cinematographer. Minnal Murali is expected to clash with Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Bro Daddy, which is also rumoured to release on Disney+ Hotstar this Christmas.
