Looop Lapeta, the comedy thriller starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin and directed by Aakash Bhatia, will premiere on Netflix soon. The film follows Savi (played by Taapsee Pannu) as she attempts to save her boyfriend, Satya, (played by Tahir Raj Bhasin) after he misplaces money belonging to the mafia. Satya's freedom is at stake, so Savi must race against the clock to save the day. If she could only make the right decisions.

Speaking about the film and why the title was finalized as Looop Lapeta, Bhatia said in a statement that when they were coming up with the title, they had a few possibilities. He wanted to say something that would create a loop. Thus, he planned to call it "Loop," but then he realized it needed to have a desi flavour to it. So they went a little desi on it, and somewhere in the mix of that, Looop Lapeta came in because it rightly implies that Pannu's character is locked in a loop, which is exactly what the film wants to break, the circle of existence, the rut and monotony of life. So, Bhatia shared that the title was inspired by the concept of breaking a loop!

He further added that he also wanted to pay respect to the original film, "Run Lola Run," throughout the film. As a result, the opening syllables of the title are a tribute to Lola-Lo (Looop) La. (Lapeta.)

Looop Lapeta is a film co-produced by Aayush Maheshwari with Sony Pictures Films India and Ellipsis Entertainment. It combines aspects of humour and romance to create the ideal entertainment package. The movie is based on Tom Tykwer's beloved cult hit Run Lola Run.

Looop Lapeta, starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin, will premiere exclusively on Netflix on February 4, 2022.
