The latest hit shows no signs of backing down in the box office. With its numbers increasing day by day, the film snagged the box office windows not only on the release of its Kannada version but also in the Hindi market.

The film released in Hindi on October 14 and began to instantly garner huge numbers. During the weekend, the film bookings had skyrocketed immensely, according to reports.

Beyond bookings, Hombale Films’ Kantara has also received love and support across the nation, especially from celebrities such as Prabhas and Anil Kumble to honorable Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of India, Anurag Thakur. Several prominent personalities have taken to social media to appreciate the film. The astronomical growth at the box office is nothing but a reflection of this love and appreciation as the film collected 1.27 crore net box office collections on the first day in the Hindi market itself.

Following that, it doubled on Saturday with 2.75 crore on Sunday, it skyrocketed again, reaching a whopping amount of 3.5 crore net in the Hindi market. The consistency in the growth at the box office is an indicator of the film’s major success, which can also be credited to the rave reviews received all over the internet.

Set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, Kantara follows Kambala champion Shiva, a village goon at first, who fights to protect his community from corrupt forest department officials and zamindars. Kantara embodies the Karnataka folklore of a mysterious deity who protects His people from evil forces, and while it is made for mere entertainment purposes, it contains a lot of heart and spirit. It is said to exhibit a perfect culmination of craft, culture and technical brilliance.

Kantara is directed by Rishab Shetty and also stars him as the lead, Shiva. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, who has announced in a statement, "We wanted the world to see our distinct cultural identity that we are proud of. The movie spells out sacred customs and traditions, hidden treasures and generational secrets with the backdrop of uniquely rugged, charming landscapes of coastal Karnataka."

With the Diwali holidays looming, the makers are expecting even more growth in the collections. Rishab Shetty has acted and directed Kantara, which has been produced by Hombale Films.
