Vishruth Naik, of Ring Master and Manjari fame, is currently making his third film. Called Kaada, with a tagline that reads ‘The inbuilt evil’, the film has Jayaram Karthik, popularly known as JK, and Kavya Shetty in the lead.
The team is currently shooting at an estate in Belur, where TV actor Sri Ram, of Hoomale and Radha Ramanna fame, has joined them. The actor, we hear, will be one of four antagonists in the film, along with Ugramm Manju. In a Times of India report, Sri Ram was quoted as saying that while Manju is the go-getter of the gang, he is the one who plans all their moves. The first half of the film takes place in Bengaluru, while the second half is set in Belur, where the gang’s plans goes horribly wrong. What happens thereafter forms much of the narrative.
Sri Ram has been quoted as saying that he was looking forward to playing a role with grey shades for the big screen, an opportunity that has now presented itself in Vishruth’s film. The role, he says, gives him a break from the boy-next-door image that he has owing to his television outings. Sri Ram adds that his recent physical transformation, which now sees him sporting six-pack abs, has worked well for a character like the one in Kaada. The actor is hopeful that this role will pave the way for more such characters in Kannada films.
Lead actor JK, meanwhile, will finish this schedule of Kaada and then head to Mumbai, where he will join the set of the Mithali Raj biopic Shabaash Mithu. The actor, who is a proficient cricketer as well, will be seen in a pivotal role in the film that has Taapsee Pannu playing Mithali Raj.
