How I Met Your Father release date: When and where to watch Hilary Duff starrer sitcom on OTT

A spin-off of How I Met Your Mother titled How I Met Your Father has made fans excited as ever. This time, the protagonist is a female, played by Hilary Duff, who narrates her story to her son, with the eventual reveal of who his dad is. The series is a Hulu original, but don't worry, it is set to be available to stream in India as well.

Disney+ Hotstar took to their Instagram page and announced that How I Met Your Father would be premiering on their streaming platform on January 19, 2022. They captioned the post with a poster of the series and wrote, "Oh, the stories you’ll hear. The series premiere of #HIMYF starts streaming on January 19."

In How I Met Your Father, Sophie (Hilary Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father in the near future: a story that transports us to the year 2021, where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.

The series also features Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma in the lead roles. Interestingly, Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City fame has been roped in to play the future Sophie in the series. 

While the sitcom was created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

In the pilot episode, Sophie meets the seemingly perfect guy after a string of failed Tinder encounters. Valentina, her roommate, arrives home from London Fashion Week with a seductive souvenir. They meet an eccentric new group of friends after an Uber-related phone incident.

How I Met Your Father comes eight years after How I Met Your Mother went off air.
