I Love Us 2 has amassed a steady fan following since its release in July this year. The web series, starring Roaleey Ryan and Supyaarde Singh revolved around the story of a lesbian couple, Richa and Neha, who navigate the ups and downs of their relationship. Roaleey recently opened up about a particularly heartbreaking scene in the series, which saw her character having to go through the throes of heartbreak.

In the series, Roaleey’s character is left heartbroken when the marriage of her beloved is fixed with someone else. Her heartbreak is depicted in the song Chakna Choor. The music video shows Roaleey trying to come to terms with her grief, making use of alcohol to cope with her emotions. As she gets drunk, she is flooded with memories of her beloved. In her stupor, she crashes her car, just when her beloved comes rushing at her side.

Opening up about the scene where she gets drunk, Roaleey says that, unlike what some fans believed, she was not really intoxicated in that scene. She revealed that no alcohol was allowed on the film sets and she had filled the bottle with juice instead. Acting drunk and in a state of being high was difficult for her. “The entire journey of filming I Love Us 2 flashed in front of my eyes and I poured it all into this scene”, she said.

Opening about the song, Chakna Choor, she said that it was a beautiful song and the melody was sure to linger with viewers. She also expressed her joy at the show being embraced by fans.

Deepak Pandey, who directed the series, spoke of how emotional the whole song was, since a pivotal moment in the show’s story moved during the track. “Heartbreak is almost the most widely experienced emotion of our times and it’s absolutely agnostic of sexual preference. Heterosexual don’t experience it any differently than homosexual people”, he added.

I Love Us 2 is available for streaming on the EORTV App.
