As Team India began preparations for their semi-final clash against England in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, the side faced an injury scare. India captain Rohit Sharma sustained a powerful blow on his forearm during an optional training session on Tuesday.
Rohit, who was doing his usual practice drills, was facing the team's throwdown expert S Raghu at the Adelaide Oval. A short ball then leaped off the length area and struck his right forearm.
Later, the captain was clearly in agony and exited the practice immediately after attempting a pull shot but missing the ball.
He was holding an ice pack to his right arm and appeared to be in a lot of discomfort. He, however, continued to observe the training session while seated on an ice chest.
The Indian opener eventually went back to training, although throwdown specialists had cautioned him against using too much force. The batter mostly played defensive shots to check if his movements were okay.
Talking about the clash, India will take on England in the second semi-final on Thursday. The first game will be between Pakistan and New Zealand on Wednesday in Sydney.
