Ilaiyaraaja and Kamal Haasan watch K.G F: Chapter 2

Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan recently watched the blockbuster K.G F: Chapter 2 at a special screening in Chennai. Pictures of the duo walking in the theatre and posing for pictures have been doing the rounds on the internet.

K.G F: Chapter 2 is the second instalment of the period action drama starring Kannada actor Yash in the lead. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, has been breaking every record across the country and worldwide. It has an ensemble cast which includes Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Achyuth Kumar, Malavika Avinash, Archana Jois, Rao Ramesh and Eswari Rao to name a few.

The film is touted to be one of the most expensive Kannada films ever made. Bhuvan Gowda, who handled the cinematography in the original and Ravi Basrur who composed the soundtrack and BGM are back in the sequel, too.

As part of the promotional activities, a fictional newspaper named K.G.F Times was designed with a vintage look. The trailer was unveiled on January 7. After a delay in release due to the pandemic, the film finally hit screens on April 14. It was released in Kannada and the dubbed versions of the films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi had simultaneous releases on the same day.

The film’s release coincided with Vijay’s Beast which released on April 13. When quizzed about the same at an interaction session, Yash said that one shouldn’t compare K.G.F with Beast. Addressing Vijay as ‘Sir’, Yash stated that his contribution to the film industry was immense. He added that it was not an election where one had to choose only one party or a candidate. His statement, "It’s not K.G.F: Chapter 2 vs Beast, it’s K.G.F and Beast,” won many hearts. He stated that he would watch both films and requested everyone to do the same as well.
