Shilpa Shetty: I am a part of Indian Police Force not because of the Shetty connection

Addressing a press conference this evening in Mumbai, Shilpa Shetty outlined whether she and Rohit Shetty have a Shetty connection. Shilpa further detailed how she feels to be a part of this project.

Shilpa said, “I am elated to play the role of Tara Shetty in the project. I am glad Rohit thought of me being a part of the project. My character is written very beautifully. I love the fact that my role in the project is so gritty and real. I have done action films before, but this is the first time I have not used a stunt double. Rohit was convinced that I could fit into the role, and I am glad I could do it.”

Talking further about her character Tara Shetty, Shilpa said, “Why wouldn’t one accept a role like this? You know I describe Tara Shetty as a ‘shero’. There are heroes and there are heroines. This one’s a shero. She is gritty, she’s badass, she’s compassionate and she’s selfless in her line of work. It’s all the qualities of someone who’s put on a pedestal. And she’s unmarried (chuckles)…. and she’s a Shetty. So, I just think it all just came together for me.”

“Also...(laughs)... I am not a part of the project just because of the Shetty connection (laughs) but I love the grasp he (Rohit Shetty) has on the milieu. To play a cop in his Cop Universe is nothing but a compliment for me,” she wrapped up the conversation.
