Preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 have already begun. With just days left before the final submission of the player retention and trade windows, let's have a look at the latest related to the cash-rich tournament.

Punjab Kings (PBKS):

The Punjab Kings recently released news saying Shikhar Dhawan will be the side's captain. They will likely release their former skipper Mayank Agarwal ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction. The former captain had earlier been retained by Punjab Kings for a whopping amount of INR 12 Crore ahead of IPL 2022 mega-auction. The side is also likely to release all-rounder Shahrukh Khan.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):

The team from Bengaluru made their first deal and trader Jason Behrendorff to the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI). RCB had paid INR 75 lakh to purchase him. Behrendorff, incidentally, previously participated in the 2018 edition of the MI.

Mumbai Indians (MI):

The Rohit Sharma-led side has decided to release start all-rounder and former captain Kieron Pollard along with fellow West Indies all-rounder Fabian Allen and England pacer Tymal Mills.

They retained a total of 10 players - Rohit Sharma, Dewald Brewis, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Daniel Sams, Tim David, Jofra Archer, Jasprit Bumrah, Tristan Stubbs, and Tilak Verma. The side released 5 players.

Gujarat Titans (GT):

Just days before the IPL 2023 Retention Day deadline ends, the 2022 champions Gujarat Titans have traded New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson and Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz to Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday (November 13).

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):

The Shreyas Iyer-led side will be looking for an attacking overseas opener and could very well consider Alex Hales. The England batter was signed by Kolkata in the previous auction but pulled out due to bubble fatigue. They were able to sign Aaron Finch, but he did not have a successful season with the team.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK):

The MS Dhoni-led side has debunked all the rumors surrounding Ravindra Jadeja and has gone on to retain the all-rounder. However, they will be parting ways with international cricketers like Chris Jordan and the New Zealand duo of Adam Milne and Mitchell Santner.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG):

Entering their second IPL, Lucknow Super Giants will be looking to bolster their middle order. While their list is not yet out, they will surely be eager to release some players to gather some money and expand their purse.

Rajasthan Royals (RR):

Rajasthan Royals have had all bases covered however, some players have failed to deliver as per expectations. Fans could witness the Sanju Samson-led side releasing some players ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction.
