Is Akhil Akkineni’s Agent co-starring Mammootty likely to be postponed?

Akhil Akkineni’s action thriller Agent has attracted a lot of attention from the fans. With Akhil having completed a physical makeover and its cast, the movie is one fans are looking forward to watching. But the latest reports about the project suggest that fans might have to wait a bit longer.

As reported by Times of India, despite the project’s makers having announced that the movie will hit theatres on August 12, its release could be postponed if the producers are unable to complete filming by the deadline. Reports also suggest that the makers could soon make an announcement regarding the postponement of the spy action thriller. 

Agent’s makers took to social media back in March to reveal its current release date. The announcement also came with a poster for the movie, where Akhil can be seen with his face turned against the camera and holding a gun.

Written and directed by Surender Reddy, the movie also features Malayalam megastar Mammootty in an important role. A poster featuring Mammootty in the film was also revealed in the past. Newcomer Sakshi Vaidya will play the female lead in the movie. 

Backed by AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema, the movie has music composed by Hiphop Tamizha, while Rasool Ellore and Naveen Nooli are the cinematographer and editor, respectively.

Akhil last appeared in the romantic comedy, Most Eligible Bachelor. Also starring Pooja Hegde, the film received mixed reviews but did well at the box office. While Akhil has only featured in a handful of movies, Agent is a project that comes with a lot of expectations.
