Badhaai Ho, a comedy-drama starring Neena Gupta, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Sanya Malhotra, was released in cinemas in 2018 and is considered a blockbuster. The film is about a middle-class Delhi family dealing with an unexpected pregnancy. In a new interview, Neena Gupta was asked if there is a possibility of a sequel to the blockbuster Badhaai Ho. The veteran actress also revealed that she was offered Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro 2.
Neena Gupta on Badhaai Ho 2
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Neena Gupta was asked about a possibility of Badhaai Ho 2. She revealed, “A lot of people asked for it. But I feel that when we have something so beautiful, toh usko bigaadna nahin chahiye.” (We should not ruin it).
She also revealed that she was offered Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro 2. The producer had spoken to her and also started discussions about her fees.
"They even sent me the script. But it never happened. Later, director Kundan Shah also passed away. But it was a long script. I was playing the main lead as Bhakti Barve was no more. But woh hua hi nahin. But with Badhaai Ho, I had never heard that the makers wanted to make a second part," Gupta shared.
Neena Gupta in Dil Dosti Aur Dogs
Neena Gupta recently appeared in JioHotstar's Dil Dosti Aur Dogs. In the film, she plays Bethany Lawrence, an emotionally withdrawn woman. In a statement, she said that playing this character was a deeply emotional experience for her.
"She is a woman who has suppressed her passions and distanced herself from the world, but through an unexpected companion, she realizes that there is still so much more to life. It is a beautiful journey of rediscovery and I connected with it on a personal level," she added.
Apart from Neena, the film also features a stellar cast of acting talents including Masumeh Makhija, Sharad Kelkar, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Keerti Kelkar, Tinu Anand, Ehan Bhat, and Tridha Chaudhary. The film is streaming on JioHotstar.
