Rumours are abuzz that John Kokken, who was seen in Arya's Sarpatta Parambarai, has been roped in to play an important role in AK 61. According to sources, John Kokken will be joining the team in Hyderabad soon, although we don't know if he is cast in a negative role. However, we await an official confirmation.
After delivering blockbusters Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai, Ajith has teamed up with H Vinoth for, the third time in a row, on AK 61.
AK 61 was launched with a puja, in April. Touted to be a thriller, the shoot is underway in Hyderabad. A source tells OTTplay, "Ajith has also started shooting for the film. We are currently filming Ajith's combination scenes with the rest of the cast."
To be completely shot in Hyderabad with several extended schedules, we hear AK 61 will be wrapped by August.
AK 61 aka Ajith 61 might hit the big screens for this Diwali, but the makers haven't made it official yet. The title of the film is expected to be revealed soon.
While Ghibran is scoring music for Ajith 61, the makers have retained half the Valimai crew for this one, too.
Recently, we had told you the Malayalam actor Manju Warrier was roped in for the film, and AK 61 will be her second outing in Tamil after her debut with the Dhanush-Vetrimaaran film, Asuran. Meanwhile, Manju Warrier has Meri Awas Suno, Vellaripattanam, Ayisha, Padavettu and her Hindi debut Amriki Pandit lined up.
Boney Kapoor, who produced the actor-director duo's previous Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai, is backing this one as well.
Nirav Shah is the cinematographer of AK 61.
Usually, directors make a design of the lead character for their films, as they dream a look while preparing the film script. But Ajith himself decided to set his look for AK 61, and he will be reportedly playing a character of negative shade. The actor sports a thick beard look for the film, and it will also be a pan-Indian release.
