A lot of reports have been making the rounds in the past couple of years regarding the sequel to the 2003 hit Ishq Vishk. The Ken Ghosh directorial marked the debut of Shahid Kapoor in the movies, and since then, there has been no turning back for the actor. Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasury are the female leads. Now, after nearly two decades, Ramesh Taurani's Tips Official has announced Ishq Vishk Rebound, featuring four young talents.
Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan, Naila Grewal, and debutante Pashmina Roshan play the lead roles in the upcoming second instalment.
Saraf took to his Instagram page and shared the announcement video with the music from the original film playing in the background. He captioned it as "It’s happening!!! When relationships can be found on apps and lost over chat, you know that love needs an upgrade. ISHQ VISHK REBOUND. It's time to move on. #LoveGetsAnUpgrade # ItsTimeToMoveOn #IshqVishkRebound. Music by @pashminaroshan @jibraan.khan @nailaagrewal @tipsfilmsofficial @rameshtaurani @nipundharmadhikari @jaya.taurani on @tips."
While the other three actors have already shown some of their work, Pashmina is the quintessential debutante, taking her maiden steps into the entertainment industry.
Expressing her excitement for her debut, she wrote on her Instagram page, "It feels like years of austerity and hard work are finally bearing fruit." I'm extremely excited, nervous and elated to bring to you my first experience on screen."
She further wrote, "When relationships can be found on apps but lost over a chat, you know that love needs an upgrade. Ishq Vishk rebounds. It's time to move on."
The story has been updated to reflect the current timeframe, and it now offers a fresh and sympathetic perspective on millennial and Gen-Z relationships.
The film has gone on floors recently and the film will hit the big screens in 2023, when Ishq Vishk marks 20 years of its release.
