It’s a wrap for Kartikeya’s Bedurulanka 2012; makers release a special glimpse of the apocalypse comedy

Kartikeya, who impressed crowds with his Tamil debut Valimai alongside Ajith, is returning with an apocalypse comedy in Telugu titled Bedurulanka 2012, a film written and directed by debutant Clax. Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni, best known for producing the national-award winning Colour Photo, is backing the film under Loukya Entertainments. C Yuvaraj is the presenter. The film’s shoot was wrapped up recently and the makers aim to release it in the first half of 2023.

Commemorating the film’s completion, the team shared a special glimpse of the ‘World of Bedurulanka 2012’ today. The engaging glimpse showcases the worlds of the various uncanny, eccentric characters in the tale. How would a town react if it believed that the world would end on a particular date? The premise is indeed novel and the film has been shot amidst the scenic locales of Yedurulanka village in Godavari. DJ Tillu actress Neha Shetty, cast as Kartikeya’s romantic interest, plays the female lead in the project.

The glimpse hints that the characters have an unusual sense of humour and conversational style, promising an intriguing ride for the viewers. The ‘end-of-the-world’ entertainer is entirely set in a village backdrop and the team is confident of keeping audiences glued to the screens till the very end. Mani Sharma is scoring the music for the film. The producer shared the teaser of Bedurulanka 2021 is expected to release in January and that the lead pair’s chemistry would be an asset to the product.

Ajay Ghosh, Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Srikanth Iyengar, ‘Auto’ Ram Prasad, Goparaju Ramana, LB Sriram, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Kittayya, Anithanath and Divya Narni play supporting roles in the film. Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, Kittu Vissapragada, Krishna Chaitanya have penned the lyrics. Sai Prakash Ummadisingu, Sunny Kurapati crank the camera while Viplav Nyshadam, Anusha Punjala are the editor and costume designer respectively. Anji and Prithvi Raj are the action choreographers.
