The composer made the announcement during the Prince promotions

With just two days to go for the release of Sivakarthikeyan's Prince, the promotions for the film are in full swing. During the promotions, the film's composer Thaman revealed an exciting bit of news for Vijay fans. He stated that they are working on a single from Vijay Varisu's which will be released for Diwali. He also revealed that the film's composer Manoj Paramahamsa is shooting for the same in Hyderabad. The news has set the excitement soaring among fans and they have been widely sharing the video clip of Thaman talking about the same.
Thaman had already dropped the hint about Diwali release when he shared a picture on his Instagram page with just the caption Diwali. That had fuelled the speculations that the first single would be out. Now with his latest speech, the news has indeed been confirmed. This is the first time that Thaman is scoring music for a Vijay film and he had called the opportunity, a dream come true.
Varisu is directed by Vamsi Paidipally and the film has an ensemble star cast which includes Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Shaam,Sangeetha, Samyuktha and Ganesh Venkatram to name a few. This is the first time that Vijay and Vamshi Paidipally are teaming up for a film. Varisu also marks the second film of Rashmika in Tamil after her debut with Karthi's Sulthan.
The film is a bilingual (Varasudu in Telugu) and is said to be a complete commercial potboiler laced with comedy, drama, romance and music. The film is slated to release for Pongal and will clash with Ajith's action entertainer Thunivu, which is helmed by H Vinoth. Vijay has not had a Pongal release for a while and hence, fans of the Thalapathy are super excited about the same.
