Superstar Rajinikanth seems on a signing spree. Even as he's still shooting for his upcoming movie Vettaiyan , he has signed another new project with a leading Bollywood producer. Hindi film producer Sajid Nadiadwala on Tuesday expressed his joy and gratitude for the opportunity to work with Rajinikanth.

"It's a true honour to collaborate with the legendary @rajinikanth Sir! Anticipation mounts as we prepare to embark on this unforgettable journey together!," said Sajid Nadiadwala. His production house Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment tweeted a picture of Sajid along with Rajinikanth while confirming the news.

Rajinikanth's Bollywood re-entry?

At this moment, we don't know whether the upcoming film will mark Sajid Nadiadwala's debut in Tamil cinema as a producer or if it will be a direct Hindi film starring Rajinikanth. It's been a long time since Rajinikanth acted in a straight Hindi film, even though almost all his films have been dubbed in Hindi.

It's noteworthy that Rajinikanth's last appearance in an original Hindi film was the 2011 movie Ra.One, where the superstar appeared in a small cameo role as his iconic robot character Chitti.

Before Ra One, Rajinikanth played an extended cameo in the 2000 rural drama Bulandi, which was the remake of Tamil hit Nattamai. During the early days of his career, Rajinikanth actively pursued roles in Hindi films featuring in titles like Aatank Hi Aatank, Insaniyat Ke Devta, ChaalBaaz and Hum to name a few.

On the career front, Rajinikanth is now busy shooting for Vettaiyan. It's a special film because it marks the onscreen reunion of Rajinikanth and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan after a gap of more than three decades. The last time the duo shared the screen was in Hum (1991).

Vettaiyan, written and directed by T. J. Gnanavel, is fast nearing completion. In the film, Rajinikanth essays the lead role of a dynamic police officer. The film is expected to explore the consequences of excessive powers given to the police force.

Vettaiyan also stars Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh. It's expected to hit the screens soon.

After completing Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth will join the sets of Thalaivar 171, which will be helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
