Jailer: 5 whistle-worthy scenes in Rajinikanth's king-sized action entertainer that left his fans thrilled

Rajinikanth's Jailer has opened to a thunderous opening across the world and his fans are celebrating the comeback of their matinee idol. The movie has taken the biggest opening for a Tamil film in 2023. The exact box office reports will be out tomorrow, though it is expected that almost 80 crores have been grossed today.

The 2 hours 50-minute film has various moments that have left the star's fans whistling and clapping, thus bringing back the glorious era of the Superstar. Check out the five such sequences created by director Nelson in the film that brought the house down. Mild spoilers ahead...

THE FIRST ATTACK

The Superstar plays Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer, who is happy spending time with his family which involves his son, wife, grandson, and daughter-in-law. An unexpected situation leaves his family dejected. Two henchmen of a dreaded goon follow him and provoke him by talking ill about his family. Pandian unleashes the beast in him and beheads one of them, leaving viewers stunned.

THE INTERVAL BLOCK

Pandian tells his wife and daughter-in-law that a group of criminals is going to attack them in a few seconds. The two of them take some time to comprehend what is happening around them and are clueless about how to escape from the attack. However, Pandian deals with them without moving an inch from the chair on which he is seated. The criminals are shot dead one by one in an excellent action choreography.

POWERFUL FLASHBACK

A short flashback sequence that narrates the brilliance of Muthuvel is another instance that left fans overwhelmed. The manner in which he deals with the inmates of prison 15 years ago goes on to showcase how smart he is when it comes to ordering and executing some quick actions. His dialogue delivery in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi in the scene is a riot.

FIRST FACE-OFF

Varman (Vinayakan) is pissed off with Muthuvel after the latter pulls off a smart game. He hatches a plan to attack the former jailer, but little did the goon realize that Muthuvel has a huge network across the country. Muthuvel reaches Varman's place and walks towards him in slow-motion amid pulsating music by Anirudh and accompanied by a few thugs. The goosebumps-inducing sequence left fans wanting more.   

DYNAMIC CAMEOS

Both Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar appear in a cameo in crucial sequences. While the former plays a friend of Pandian, the latter is someone who is thankful to the jailer for his deeds. Little did the audience expect that the two big stars from Malayalam and Kannada would make a sensational appearance again in the climax. Their stunning presence elevates the protagonist vs antagonist sequence, thus making Jailer a wholesome entertainer.
